The HSHS St. John’s Hospital Laboratory provides high quality, accurate and timely diagnostic pathology and laboratory services for hospital patients, outpatients and outreach patients in community physicians’ offices. This full service laboratory has a highly skilled team of board certified pathologists and other lab professionals who participate in continuing education on a regular basis.

Lab Services include routine and specialized testing in the following areas:

  • Microbiology (Bacteriology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Virology)

  • Molecular Diagnostics
  • Flow Cytometry
  • Chemistry
  • Anatomic Pathology

Access to reference laboratories is available as well as phlebotomy services (inpatient/outpatient).
 

Hours

Phlebotomy (blood draw) service is available in the Satellite Lab at the hospital, The Satellite Lab is open 5:30 am through 5 pm. Phlebotomy service is available before 5:30 am and after 5 pm in the Main Lab.

Phlebotomy service is also available at the HSHS St. John’s Health Center at 1100 Lincolnshire Blvd. Hours are 7 am - 3:15 pm, Monday – Friday. Call (217) 757-6529 to learn more. Appointments are not necessary at St. John's Health Center, however, some specialized testing is only performed on certain days of the week. NOTE: Some blood tests do require fasting prior to having your blood drawn. Please contact your health care provider or the HSHS St. John’s Lab to determine requirements for your specific testing.

Laboratory results are available through your physician, HSHS St. John’s Health Information Management (Medical Records) Department or ChartMyHealth.
